    Nero Backup Weirdness

OK so anyone out there use Nero to backup?

When I go to run Nero to backup my D partition it tells me I need like 31 CDRs which if I figure 650 MB per CDR that would be the total capacity of the partition rather than the used space.

The used space is around 3.5 GBs which would mean considerably less CDRs required.

    So what's the deal?

Don't know exactly, but maybe its german preciseness.... in that you shouldn't believe what windows thinks.... is there a pagefile on this drive or is it using compression?

    German Preciseness you say?

The swap file is set as Windoze managed and I assume it's on C.

I'm just gonna run it and see what happens. I don't have the Nero help file to verify if that's what's going on. So I suppose I could check the FAQs on their site. D'Oh!

I'm just extra cautious today because I moved alotta data to the D drive earlier and was checking my backup options and accidently ran Drive Image SE and it locked up and left my C drive in a read only state till I did a mbr recovery.

Came out of it OK with only a couple gray hairs

Well for the record I think it was going to want 31 CDRs

I canceled out after 7. I figured 7x650=4550MB and that should cover the 3000MB or so of actual data.

I'm curious if the data on the 7 disks I do have would recover things completely, but I'll save that for sometime when I'm feeling more adventurous.

Maybe a defrag is in order to see if that makes a difference.
