    ATI TV replacement?

Are there any 3rd party programs that can replace the ATI TV program? I'd like a program that has less than 1000 bugs in it, I just set ATI TV to record an important program while I was outside with visitors, I got back just as the program was ending and saw an error about DVD, and it started to record just when I clicked OK on that error, so I got the credits at the end of my program but nothing else

So are there other TV programs that can interact with TV guide like the ATI TV software?

By the way, this is by FAR the only bug in ATI TV, if I were to list them all, I'd probably reach the message length limit of this board. The worst thing is, when I email them to report a bug they just tell me to re-install the program

Does anyone know a way to report bugs to ATI directly to the programmers or someone who cares? I could send them a list of the hundreds of bugs, including TV being zoomed 200% in the top left corner and sound downsampeld to mono when using TV on demand, crashing when using transparent TV with certain skins, channels not being at the right numbers, start up wizard opening each time you open TV, and so on.

    Thanks

Err well I've never had any trouble with it ... so perhaps ATI's supports advice isn't that bad ! ... setup wizard starting each time tells me something isn't right

If you are determined to find a new 'grabber' application Try here (lots of good links off it) .... however remember these are all dependant on the inputs from your cards drivers, if these ain't behaving right nothing will ... which I suspect is your underlying reason ...

I've reformated often and done clean installs after each format and the same problems come back, and my friends have them too so it isn't just me.

Anyway thanks for the link, I'll also get the latest ATI drivers and software and see if that helps.

    Thanks

Best Piece of advice I can give, Get POWERVCR. especially if you're using windows XP. Power VCR has it's own drivers for the ATI card that work 100x better than ATI's . I've used it as a digital VCR and even my wife can program it (heck she prefers using that than an actual VCR).

    here's a link : http://www.gocyberlink.com/english/p....jsp?ProdId=20

BTW I know what you mean about the ati software, it only crashed mycomputer everytime I tried to use it.

I've upgraded the drivers. They help, but they aren't a magic cureall. My biggest problems are that I lose sound sometimes when a scheduled record comes up and that I can't get anything to display on my TV. What the hell good does it do me to have TV out if it doesn't display the damn TV Module?!

I'm trying MYHTPC right now. I've just started using it so I don't really have an opinion on it yet, but it looks promising at least.

this may get zapped, If you think it probably will, then why bother posting it?

The version posted is 7.9, I have 8.2 already since a few months. I guess the TV wonder series or whatever card that was is late in it's versions.

because there is a difference between having a feeling something might get zapped and feeling that something Deserves to get zapped. . . . . I don't post something I think deserves to be edited.
