Stop Banging The Side Of The Monitor!!

Came across a "Oh, while you are here. I am having this problem."

This user was saying that his monitor was discolored and wavy.

As I approached the computer I noticed that everything was looking fine to me. So, I said "When does the monitor act up."

User: "It acts up when I do this" He bangs the side of the monitor.

Me: Besides all the idiot comments running through my head. I say, "umm. That's weird"

So I reseat the monitor cable and told the user in a calm steady voice to stop banging the side of the monitor.

I had a customer the other day who banged on the side of the monitor to take the machine out of "sleep" mode. Apparently, she had been doing this for years to "wake it up". I showed her how to tap the spacebar...

What gets me is that this worked because she stored her mouse in one of those little holders on the side of the monitor...
