    HP JetDirect EX Plus 3

    How does one get a HP JetDirect Ex Plus 3 to send a print job to the correct port when using it for TCP/IP printing?

    I am using the latest HP Web Jet Admin to setup the print queues on an NT print server, but the print jobs always seem to go to the first available port rather than to the port with the chosen printer.

    This problem does not occur with the Novell print queues.

    Any ideas?

    Good old trial and error and error and error.

    There is an undocumented step in the creation of each new printer on the Jetdirect. You must create a new port with each printer creation when using Web Jetadmin. If you leave things set to defaults all printers will be created on the same port. If you manually try to change the printer port in the printer settings after the printers have been created all on the same port, the change for one will change all three so all printers will be on the same new port. Hope this make sense. It doesn't to me.
