    Question Windrivers' Front Page

For the past several weeks, whenever I click to the Windrivers site, my screen will turn black for a second or two and then the black will remain on the header and task bar until I run the cursor over them. This effect extends to and lingers on the desktop. This only happens when I first click to this site. I am running Norton AV and Firewall, Spybot and Pest Patrol and none of these detect anything strange. I am also running Win XPPro and IE 6 when this occurs. This is not the first time I have experienced anomolous behavior with Windrivers' front page. This behavior is not life-threatening, but I'm no codemaster and am rather perplexed. If anyone else is experiencing this please let me know.

I'm running Sun's free version and have IE 6 (as much as possible) set to use it, but that could be it as I have noticed little odd happenings on other sites that were Java related. Just nothing quite as dramatic. The fact that strange things on this sight have only been occasional occurences makes me think that it might be reacting(?) to a banner ad. This hasn't affected performance at all, its just odd.

Well, Java seems to have been the culprit. After playing with IE 6's controls and multiple reboots, the problem was solved.

    Unhappy

It seems as if I might have posted to soon as the problem has returned and have experienced it on a few other sites. I'll work on it later today.

    I'm running Sun's free version
What version number? (can check this here)

Upgrading to the latest version (1.4.2) sorted out my problems with the site's front page that I had using my browser (Opera not IE though )

My version is 2v1.4.1_02. I'll check Sun's site for an update.

Now I'm running 1.4.2. The problem now only occurs when accessing this site from search (maybe on other sites as well, haven't been running this version long enough to tell). I'll play with my os and see what will happen. Anyway, Java seems to be the problem, so at least I know what direction to go and this thread is getting stale so I think I'll end it, thanks guys for your help. Food for thought: I've been using Sun's free download for well over a year with no problems until recently. I wonder if this problem is something Microsoft has slipped in with an update just to cause problems for Sun while the two litigate.
