Creative: EMU10K1 VXD
Anytime my system plays a sound I get a blue screen of death and it gives me a VXD EMU10K1 error. I have gone through the rigamarole of uninstalling, reinstalling, updating, backdating and the sorts. Could it be the sound processor? Or what?

It could be a bad sound processor or it could just be that your SB Live! card needs to be pressed down into the PCI slot fully.
Hopefully it's the second one, that's an easy fix.

I have a EMU vk10.vxd error in dos. Do u have a intel 815 mobo?
i think that there is a conflict between sblive drivers and intel 815 and uata100 drivers!

I had the same problem, SB Live Value (CT4830) with Intel 815 MotherBoard. I ended up FDISK etc.., Next time around, I read the notes in windrivers.com on Creative labs drivers found...a person posted information saying that the SB Live is a 'variant' of another sound card (awe64 driver, not update driver xxxud.exe works).
Please post here if this AWE64 original full driver works for you.

You'all need to update to Liveware 3.0.

Only seen the problem once with the Intel 815 and the update was the fix.
