Question Outlook expres - dissapearing messages

    Bonjour ya all!

    this is really bugging me:

messages transfered from incoming to a specific folder are dissapearing.

the config: Dell inspiron 5000 (ok stop laughing, it does the job)
    win2k with all latest patches
office 2k wity all the latest patches
outlook express 6 (6.00.2800.1165) in français please

this is one of many local folder created within the local mailbox.
everything is fine with all the other folders, I'm not loosing anything.

And yes I've made sure all the auto archives (in global opion and for that specific folder) are off.

what's even more funny (but I'm not laughing) is that the messages are transfered correctly and will be in the forder for about 5 days, (so I have messages 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 days old) and then "poof" I boot up normally, go to express, all my messages, contacts, etc, are there EXCEPT for that folder.

(I have cheked for viruse, ad-wares and other $hit alikes, nothing.)

    Any suggestion anyone ? mmmmmm?

You didn't say if they were news messages or mail messages, but there is a tab in Outlook Express/Tools/Options/Maintenance that has a checkbox for deleting news messages a certain number of days after they are downloaded, and the default is 5 days.

Thanks, already checked that, and it's off.

as to the messages, it's new messages received in the mailbox, transfered to that specific folder, where they stay for about 5 days before evaporating.

so yeah, the first place I checked was that auto compress setup.

the strange thing is this is happening only in that particular folder.
