OK, here is what i see as going on. Your modem is a speedstream 5600, that modem happens to have a built in router. Now, you purchased a wireless router for internal access.
So, you have 3 options.
1. go into your modem configurations, and turn off it's routing abilities so it acts as a regular modem, then configure your wireless router to share your internet.
2. Turn off the routing options on the wireless router, plug the internal ports of the wireless router into the lan port on the modem, and let the wireless router act as a simple WAP
3. Try to setup a router behind a router, you'll have to use standard DHCP on the the wireless router, and you'll loose all abilities to configure the modem unless you rearange the wiring.
I would recommend you take step 1 if possible
