I have done a fresh install of win2k pro on this computer. It is taking FOREVER to boot or open any file or explorer. should I look at ram? It has 128mb chips and one 32mb chip. this is a 700 mhz athlon. I have loaded the latest Hyperions and am attempting to do al the window updates. It is running slower then an over taxed 133!

did it run smoothly before or have you upgraded the OS. Also did you installed hyperions before or after all the other device drivers?

If after, try uninstalling the drivers and removing the infs and reinstall the hyperions.

Hopefully that will sort it out.

Yes noo noo it is on my workgroup. Peer to peer only, no domain just like my other one here working fine. But it is a total of 288mb ram, 2 128's and one 32. Sorry for confusion here.
Yes I have loaded the hyperions first---no other devices yet but still choking.

Might be worth bench marking the hard drive and doing a ram check as well.
