I saw a program last year in which scientist mentioned an ongoing myth of a "space monster" which keeps destroying satellites sent out into our solar system after having lost several one after the other.
But given the destructive power of even a fleck of paint travelling at speed it suprising anything lasts long up there.

It's no space monster, it's TERRORIST BIGFOOTS!!!! They caused the power outtage on the spacecraft!!!

I put it down to the French Robot Solar Panel Union demanding a three day work week and 70 days paid holiday.
