Moving Frontpage 2002 to another computer
Hi Gang
I'm hoping to clear some things up here. As I understand it, if you purchase a full retail or upgrade version of Frontpage 2002 or Microsoft Office XP, you are allowed to uninstall it from one system and move it to another. Is this correct and if it is, how often do you run into problems??
Secondly, does the same apply to Full and upgrade version of Windows XP??
Thanks for you help in advance

You tend to have to contact MS if you have already activated the OS/App suite on a different PC, then they will give you a code to use for a manual activation. They are usually very corporative from what I have heard...never done it myself.

fontpage you can just uninstall & reinstall wherever you don't buy that tied to a pc ... as long as you have disk & key ...
But xp ... mmm I suppose if its an "to be activated copy" you might just have to re-input the original activation code that they gave you if you know it, or ring them up again ... but what about pre-activated ones ? they can be bios locked ... this big fat quote refers ...
“Pre-activation” of Windows XP by the OEMs will be done in one of two different ways depending on the OEM’s own configuration options and choices. Some OEMs may protect Windows XP using a mechanism which locks the installation to OEM-specified BIOS information in the PC. This technology works very similar to existing technologies that many OEMs have used over the years with the CDs they ship to reinstall Windows on these computers. We expanded and integrated the existing OEM CD BIOS locking mechanism with product activation, and call this method of protection “System Locked Pre-installation,” or SLP.
from here (in word)
But an upgrade will be retail, so again either activation code or ring up again ...
