Hardest game to beat
Wow, I aughta look at the forums more often... nice look. Anyhow, what's the hardest game to beat in your book. Currently, I'd have to say GTA Vice City. Most of the missions are fairly simple but it's a long @ss game and seems to never end... but it's always fun. I also had quite the time with the first Final Fantasy too but I was also about 12 then.

It was Tyson's damn uppercut! BAM! Knockout!
And Vice City is open ended. I finished the story, but technically I don't think you can really finish it.
But my vote is for Solitaire! Some hands are impossible to win no matter what you do! That's just unfair!

King of the Mermaids
My vote goes to Tic-Tac-Toe. Damn game ends in a tie every time...

or does it? A lot of people will argue that death is just a continuation or gateway to another dimension.

Battletoads for the NES was really hard, especially the levels with the surf board or jet ski. I tried beating the game with one of those Game Genie's or Game Shark cheating devices and I still couldn't beat it!

Vice city is hard to finish because i always get distracted. I will be going on a mission, and lose, then just go on a killing spree until the fbi are after me.
Soul Calibur 2 is pretty difficult. The arcade mode is nothing, but playing through Weaponmast Mode can get quite ridiculous. in order to unlock everything you have to get to like level 70+ or something like that, I have been playing for hours and am only at level 37. I am at a challenge now where i have 30 seconds on the clock, and i have 5 enemies to defeat. for each one you finish, you get 15 seconds added back on the clock. THey apparently have some kind of armor becasue they dont take nearly as much damage as normal, so the best way is to knock them out of the ring, howver you are in a level where only one side of the ring is open, and teh 3rd character does nothing but block your every attack. I must have tried it 30 times.
another really hard game was Shadow Squadron for the Sega 32x. i could get to the last boss, but never win.
Some people are like Slinkies . . . not really good for anything, but you still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs
