Video Card Problems

I got a new geforce4 mx 420 64mb sdram card today and installed it but my monitor doesn't show anything. But when I put my old tnt2 32mb card in it turns on. I got a FIC AZ11E motherboard. Would anyone actually know how I could fix this problem? Could it be the jumper settings, voltage, bios, etc etc? Plz help! thx

Verify that the new video card is working by installing it in another machine.

Also read your motherboard manual. There may be a jumper to set the AGP slot voltage that you need to change. Not to make you sound dumb but did you install the drivers for the new card? and remove the old one's

And wouldn't hurt to make sure it is seated firmly in the board.

agp cards are notorious for seeting badly , check that when u tighten the screw its not lifting out.

is your other card pci or agp ?


have u tried the new card in another system ?


do you have any post "beeps" ? if so what are they?

Actually you are on to something. Nvidia is particular about totally removing the old drivers from the system before loading the new ones. However being that he does not get a screen or him monitor does not turn on, I would recommend what was said previously, and that is to verify that the card works.

Also, I am assuming this is agp 4x or better, and I am wondering if the motherboars supports the card or not.

I'm willing to bet this Heineken that I'm about to drink that this is the problem. Mobo do not support 4xAGP.
