Please help me decide - which Gainward card would you recommend?
Hi. I would like to buy a new graphics card and I'm looking at some Gainward cards, using the NVidia chip.
First of all. Is the FX chip newer and/or better than the GeForce4 TI (4800 or 4600)?
I'm thinking about the FX5600 chip. What are the main differences between the FX5600 Ultra? The FX5600 Ultra only comes with 128Mb of RAM but I'm looking into getting a 256Mb card.
Also. Gainward has two 256Mb cards using the FX5600 chip. What are their main differences, does anyone know?
There's the Ultra/780 XP Professional and the Ultra/780 TV/DV1 (which is the one I'm considering right now).
Any other suggestions would be more than welcome.
Many thanks!

Since I'm feeling too lazy to post 'all the why' ... Buy an ATI 9600 pro, same money - better card !

The Chaintech FX71 is a 5600 Ultra based on the newer FX5900 core (as opposed to the less successful FX5800). It's a 128MB card, I'm not sure how much extra benefit you get from 256MB on today's systems.
I haven't seen any FX5900 based video cards from Gainward (yet).
