What, exacty, do you mean?
Are you having a shutdown problem?
Is there a reason for EXTENDING it?
Most users want to shorten it.
More details would help, but, as far as I know, Windows controls that, and there is no way to extend it.
I could be wrong, though.
But, why would you want to?
What would be the purpose?
You could unload everything before shutdown:
Ctl-Alt-Del:
End everything except Explorer and Systray.
Then shutdown.
But geez, that takes longer than actualy shutting down.
Again:
WHY?

Hi! i've a user which has an application that takes alonger time to shutdown compared to the default timing set by MS this results in the system unable to shutdown.
I was hoping to extend the shutdown timing to allow win98 to accommodate the shutdown time take for that application.

Two things to do:
1) click Start then type MSCONFIG Then click OK then click Advanced Then uncheck "Disable Fast Shutdown"
2) download this update from Microsoft Website called:
Windows IDE Hard Drive Cache Package

If you wanna "extend" the shutdown time make sure the afore mentioned box is enabled.
