Moving 2000 to new PC
Hi all, I think I’m fighting a losing battle but thoughI’d check with the experts first. Just built a new PC for a customer. They wanted to move their existing 2000 instillation onto the new machine so I imaged their old drive using POWERMAX. Plugged the new drive in expecting problems and got them. Did an in place upgrade which I thought would sort it out but I’m still stuck with the same problem. When it reaches the stage "Windows will now detect your keyboard, mouse, monitor etc, You may see your screen flicker on and off" it just hangs three quarter way through.
I have tried unplugging the modem and backup drive, the DVD drive and disabling everything I can in the bios, (onboard sound etc.) No change. New motherboard is ASUS A7N8X deluxe and a new 80GB Maxtor HD.
Any ideas? Any help much appreciated

Removing the IDE devices, whilst doing sysprep can help also.
