    newest nvidia drivers

What's the latest NVidia graphics driver version? I am having an issue with flickering during video capture on my MSI fx5600 ViVo. I emailed MSI and they sent me a link for a version 51.75?? it's not a nvidia OR MSI site, so I was wondering if anyone else knew of anything.

I do realize that they are probably a beta or whatever, but I thought I'd ask if anyone's seen/tried them.

    ***UPDATE***

I tried them, no sucesss on my problem. Actually made the capture stop working. I'm going to uninstall the capture drivers, install the 51.75s, and then reload the capture to see if that will work. I'll keep y'all posted.

Anyone else wants to play they can be had here >>> http://www.linkmania.ro/filerush/?fi...echconnect.zip

Still no go. Other than the capture it seems to work flawlessly.
Does anyone know of a newer capture driver for the Nvidia cards? I have version 2.03 from the MSI site.

Ahhh the Nvidia driver version game ... shouldn't this be in the lounge ?

Dunno about anything newer, so 'standard advice' tried some older ones ? ... [sigh]

The sooner Nvidia get their 'sh*t together' with driver versions the better !!

NVidia has version 2.13 posted on their website at: http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
select Multimedia software in the first box, then WDM Driver, and the only available box for Operating System and click go. You get two choices; VIVO and TV or VIVO only. Download and run the appropriate choice (be sure to disable anti virus software during the install) and try it out!

By the way, confused-ed, why would you bash NVidia dirver releases? They rarely release a dog, and one driver supports ALL of their cards except the first two chips AND their drivers are usually better than drivers written by video card makers. Are ya tryin' to say ATI's drivers situation is better? Well, are ya?

Nope ATIs no better either ! - how many driver versions are there of each ?? (but in general I'd say ATI are currently a little better, though admitedly if you back 18 months or so ago the situation was reversed - all either of them seems to be interested in is producing the 'fastest' card)

thats called evolution. Would you prefer just a few number of versions, and no antialising or T&L, for example? We would still bee in file manager ages if the 'comodity' of our actualization was the first concern...

    Greetings

Errr ummm ... that's called revision - because drivers shouldn't 'evolve', they are made to support a particular product, whose features are known at the outset, those features don't change only anciallary stuff like windows itself or Directx or whatever ... does the ATI/Nvidia 'driver fairy' magic herself inside all the computers & start adding new features ? Of course NOT !

IMHO they push products 'out of the door' before they have 'good' drivers just so they can do some stupid benchmark a bit quicker than the competitions', who cares if the drivers work as long a they give better benchmarks & thus sell more stuff ? Well, err umm, customers generally might like 'flawless' over 'faster'

Both ATI and Nvidia could use a couple of Quality Assurance Experts.

Agreed, if everyone spent the money/time on their R&D on their products that Intel does on their CPU and chipsets, the computing world would be a better place.

Anyone else notice something odd about those new capture drivers from Nvidia???

ViVo driver file size is 1.2 MB, add TV Tuner capapbility, file size is 1.1MB?

Incredible: a discussion that goes on and on with just a few experts in the mater..... Have you already made a driver?! Do you know what issues are in cause?...

Said, because in my days people had chame of talk about what thwy dont know.

In the old days Detonator drivers did just what they was supose to give: a plug and play compatibility with some speed improvements.

But things evolve... for better or worsth.... and now what really make the R&D guys keep running is undoubtely 30% of hardware changes. And believe me, that can make all the diference... This is, if you know what a PROGRAM is.

I take it the gist of this is ... that we don't know what we are talking about !?!

Some of us at least might have experience of writing drivers, nope it ain't simple, but its not rocket science either, what is MASSIVELY important with any driver is TESTING.

With detonator & Catalyst driver releases running at over one per month every month, something tells me WE are doing the testing !

Most of us can drive, but we couldn't make a car, but it doesn't stop us recognising when a car is crap does it ?

It's impossible to test drivers on every platform with every chipset with every OS revision and application or game. They do push stuff out the door but they have to. Software does evolve. It also adapts to new hardware that constantly comes out. Tight standards would solve the problem but it would kill innovation in the process. Sometimes you gotta just roll with it and understand that no-one ever does everything perfectly.

I've got the 5900fx with video capture. The capture drivers are version 2.0.3.0. It works pretty well but takes a few seconds to actually capture anything. I wind up cutting about 5 seconds of blue screen off beginning of every mpeg.
