GeForce2 MX DH Pro Problem
I had just reformatted my computer and was installing the drivers as usual and when it came time for my graphics card, I did the same old thing and installed the driver and the software from the disk. After I clicked 'ok' to restart the computer it seemed normal. Normal up unto the point where the screen blackens out and is about to load the desktop. From there my monitor just fades away and I can't see anything.
The Power is still on, but I can't see a thing and the power indicator is just blinking and I identified the blink as being 'off'. When I turn off the monitor and turn it back on, it says it's functioning normally and that I should check power cables and the connection (It's the self test it does when not connected to the computer). The only way to get access back is to turn off the computer and iniate Safe Mode. From safe mode I change the refresh rate to factory default and reboot. I can now get back into windows normally.
The problem is that I can't change the screen resolution without the same problem happening again. And I can only choose 'factory default' or 'optimal performace' from the refresh list. There are no extra tabs when you open display properties for the graphics card. If I choose optimal performance, I get the problem again. If I choose factory default I don't have a problem. I can't even set my colors higher than '16 colors' without having the problem occuring again.
Is there a problem with my monitor? I installed the drivers for it from the manufactuers website.
