windows xp reboots on resume
the computer goes into standby and boom! it restarts? does anybondy know why it does this?? also when you resume from hibernate it restarts too...
i know its not a hardware problem cause i began to happen when i reinstalled windows, i could do a reinstall but if there is a quick fix itll save me time

Could be a blue screen error that you aren't seeing because the PC is set to reboot after errors. Look in system properties for the Startup and Recovery button, and uncheck "Automatically Reboot" under System failures...Then the next time the system does this, you would get the blue screen, and can record what you see, and tell us the error displayed, (presuming this is a blue screen error) . If instead the PC still reboots means something elseā¦
Also, what does Event viewer tell you at the time of the reboot?

It may not be hardware but it may be drivers.
Give us details about your PC/hardware/and OS after following Ya_Know's advice. (especially event viewer)
Also, why did you reinstall to begin with????
What problems were you having which caused you to reinstall?
