making a screen saver
hello peeps..
is it possible to create a power point presentation into screen saver ? to a .scr file ? some one in public relations office just asked me if it could be done, they want to run a screen saver from a cool power point presentation they made.
if there is a program that you know of, let me know.
thanks

I found a lot of apps on Google that can do this. They all costs something though... Just do a search on PowerPoint ScreenSavers. Apex seems to be a popular one...

irfanview not only is a kick-*** picture viewing program, but will also let you make a picture slideshow screensaver as an .scr or .exe
and it's free
don't know about the powerpoint end of the equation.

program is simple and easy to use.. but the problem is that it requires Power Point Viewer to be installed in order for it to run... if i leave it like that, then i just screw myself into installing ppv on all the pcs in the hospital..
can anyone think of another program to convert power point pressentation into *.SCR and not have to use PPV ?? it can also be EXE file, but it has to be independent.
thanks

well i left out one little detail, you need to download one of the free plugins available for irfanview. it is the ''Slideshow-EXE'' plugin available off the link above.
then if you have the guy in public relations open his presentation in powerpoint and do a 'save as' and select to save it as a jpeg, powerpoint will prompt to save the entire presentation as jpegs. this process works in my powerpoint 2000.
Once you have the slides as jpegs you can open irfanview and select file->slideshow and if the plugin is installed right you can add all or some of the jpegs and then save the pictures as a .scr or even .exe.
once you have the scr or exe you don't need powerpoint or the powerpoint viewer to view/use it.
now if he's gotta have sound or animation syncing up to this thing then i don't know what to tell you.
