Win98 Soundmax drivers for integrated sound
Have a customer who has steadfastly refused to drop their DOS based cobol accounting program. Their old PC died and I am putting together a dual boot XP / 98SE machine.
Sound works fine on XP, none whosoever on 98.
Belarc says "SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio"
Dell doesn't have any 9x drivers for the machine.
Dell computer board: 0H1489
Dell BIOS a02
Intel 82865G Graphics controller [display adapter]
Internal speaker
Anything else?
Thanks

Glad you liked the moniker. Like to be different and these things just come to me.

Failing that go to intel.com and download soundmax for one of their desktops, where the chipsets match your dell.
PPS dos programs work great in xp. might try running the cobol app in xp first, might save some hassle.

Thanks I did try XP first. At least one of the major activities would crash the ap. It was one of the selction criteria routines for report printing.
