Computer movies?
Anyone have an opinion?
I just rented "Three Blind Mice".
The local vid store is my customer and I trade work for dvd's.
Sweet huh?
Anyway, this is another computer movie...and it bites.
Since we are all into grading and rating war movies lately, what about computer movies?
Has there ever been a good one?
And we, as techs would know, wouldn't we?
So, what is good, what is bad?
Are we still waiting for a defining computer movie, or have we already seen one?

no computer movie suggestions (at least not any good ones : )
but this subject does remind me of the guy who reviews and rates movies based on physics.
INSULTINGLY STUPID MOVIE PHYSICS
maybe that has some good or bad suggestions for you

What constitutes a computer movie?
Based on a computer or a computer does something impossible.
Cause I would like to mention that even todays fastest computer can not make a woman appear in a bedroom closet.

Antitrust with Tim Robbins was pretty good.

Good point Larommi.
I mean a movie where there are "real life" computers and techs as characters.
Does that help?
Like the movie I couldn't even finish watching last night: "Three Blind Mice".
It started off with the local geek, after watching someone getting snuffed over webcam (he had broken through a firewall to access the remote cam) being interviewed by the police who asked what a firewall was.
He told them it was to keep viruses out.
It went downhill from there.

Pirates of Silicon Valley
it's kinda more documentary or docu-drama rather than fiction, but still worth it.

If you want to see real life techs see Office Space. That movie captured cube life to a T.
If your looking for snuff, the movie FearDotCom carries a very spooky possibility.

Cleetus keeps bringing up Tron.
Anyone else seen it?
I looked it up and it goes back years, and I don't think I ever saw it.

What about War Games - Great Movie.
On the other hand, I enjoyed sword fish if you don't mind seeing people "hacking" in Autocad
Off Topic, (since you mentioned war movies) for anyone who hasn't seen it, definately rent Black Hawk Down. If you have a kick *** 6.1 surround sound (like I do) you will love the company that mastered this DVD. Explosions in front and dust and dirt falling behind. That was pure perfection.
