Prints test page but nothing else
A coworker just replaced the hard drive and reinstalled Windows 98. He can now print a test page to his Lexmark printer but if he tries to print from Word 2000, he receives an error message stating that a suitable device cannot be found. This is a USB printer.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Farrar

So, it prints and now it is a Word problem.
Have him go to File/Print and see what's listed, anything at all?

Ok, are you working on this PC, or is he? The reason I ask, if it's you, get us some more information, try a few tricks, get some baseline information. If it's him, give him the link to this thread, and tell him to give us some more information...

find and delete normal.dot with office completely closed (including findfast and osa) then start office again. It should pick up the printer properly this time.

i've seen with some usb printer that in order for them to print correctly you have to go to add new hardware wizard and install a new printer port, and then insert the driver cd and it will install lexmark printer port, then you install the printer on that, give that a try
