Welcome to Windrivers bal_sagoth!Here is the Gateway site where you can get downloads for your laptop. It sounds like its a video capture card to me but I could be wrong. Try gateway first and post back then we can go from there.

have you tried the autoupdate? download it here

    your specification is here

    manual for it

Your problem is that the are for 95 and 98 the laptop did not come with 2000, so 2000 drivers are not supplied.

you could try the ibm version no guarantees....

    nt4 version might work too

    Angry

I've got win 98 on my solo 9100, and I still can not use the Composite video-in for capturing. The win98 Multimedia can not see the capturing device. "Vidcap could not initialize the capture device". Driver is needed. I"ve tried the IBM drivers too - the problem remained the same. Is there any tricky BIOS or JUMPER setting? where can I find the proper capture driver? Generic capture driver?

    Unhappy

Thank you, but it didn't work: maybe bacouse the warning on the Gateway page: "These drivers are NOT for use with the Solo 9100 with the Trident Video and optional DVD, chassis rev code E6.0 and greater."
I've got a solo9100 with chassis code: E7.7 - it means that I have Trident video AND video-in. Is there any versions of CipsTV for my system? I'm getting so disappointed...

    Talking yes

yes, I did, but they don't provide support for machines purchased outside of U.S. and there is no official dealer of Gateway notebooks in my country - Hungary. The former owner bought it in a TESCO hypermarket....

I've got the same problem(chassis code E7.9, Trident video card), and I failed to receive support from Gateway - I live in Russia. None of the drivers discussed in this thread work, but I think, that the right driver is the "AVI driver" for win'95. But still, it doesn't work even with Windows 95 Pan Europe.

I don't know what to do.

Here is the link to another forum dedicated to Gateway laptops, where I posted a message about this issue:

thanks for the link, I'll check it out soon.

I've tried the last suggested driver at the link, and I also used the Gateway Internet Update Tool (?) but my WIN98 still can not recognize the video capturing device.(the solo 9100 is optimized for win98!)

I'm afraid that the capture device of my trident card will work only with its own capture driver program (ChipsTV?), but Gateway forgot placing it on it server. Where could I get it?

Is there any hope? Maybe WINXP recognizes the capture device? I don't want to place it on my HDD....

Yesterday I installed Win95PE, then "Solo 9100 AVI drivers", then Microsoft Vidcap(this can be found at www.driversguide.com, it was described there as "Solo 9100 capture driver". It's not a driver, it's a program). After that, when I started Vidcap, it found the driver, it was possible to setup the video-in properties. Then I installed Win98 Russian over Win95, and it seemed that everything was ok.

Still there was no capture device in the device list.

But when I connected my VCR - nothing happened. The TV-OUT didn't work too.

And forget about ChipsTV - it was designed to work with C&T-based capture device only.

    Talking interesting

I'll try installing MS VIdCap again, but I'm afraid it won't help. I use Hungarian Win98. Shouldn't we try some USreleased Windows(es)?
    Where can I buy them??????
