    I submit to the judge:
    A quick Google for betroved brings up approximately 231 pages where people used this word. Since this is not a perfect world, and we cannot inform the entire world that they are spelling it wrong, a conclusion should be reached that both instances of the word (betroved and betrothed) should be allowed. My "spelling error" was not actually an error, but a choice of words.

    If it ain't observed by Websters, than it ain't a word...ain't is in the dictionary...your word however, is not.

    Google is too general. We refer to http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=betroved.
