    CD-RW: Artec 32x12x48 CD-RW (WRA-WA48)

Hi I was wondering if anybody knew where I could d/l the drivers for this drive:

    CD-RW: Artec 32x12x48 CD-RW (WRA-WA48)

My friend is having a hard time fixing it and windows seems to be asking for his drivers but he doesn't have any other CD-Rom to try and use.

    Any help is appreciated.

Is this an internal drive? If so, it doesn't need drivers, it uses the same drivers the hard drives use.

He may be lacking burning software...or he may have other issues, could you describe the problem in detail please?

Would also need to know the windows version and pc make and model.

Mmmm so its still that !

My best guess, is that some software somewhere has grabbed the drive letter assignment & windoze is now, as it & I often am just plain ... confus-ed !

    But I'm confus-ed by this
windows seems to be asking for his drivers
... errr just when is it asking for drivers ? ... because as Noo quite correctly states it doesn't need any !

Or are we just saying it shows in device manager but won't 'appear' in my computer ? (& in which case what does 'disk management' have to say about it ? Right click my computer, 'manage', you get an MMC snap in pop up, entitled 'disk management', is it listed there or not ??)

Tried removing the actual device driver from device manager and letting it redetect? Sounds like some confusion case to me, just as NooNoo and Confus-ed have stated, CDRW's don't need drivers, just appliations that allow them to burn CD's.
