    Dos based scanner

I have a machine that wont boot except to a dos prompt I want to scan it for viruses. Was wondering if McAfee's Stinger will run from a command prompt or maybe Trend Micro's Sysclean tool? If not does anyone know of a free scanner that will run from a dos prompt that you can get up to date definitions for?

You can get f-prot for dos for free, download the latest definitions, put the prog and definitions on a cd, and boot from a win startup floppy and choose start with cd-rom support....or, alternately you can make a bootable cd with f-prot on it. I usually don't bother with a bootable cd since i run a lot of other utilities from my boot floppy and the virus cleaner is just one of them
