    embarassing but i need help with windows 3.11

    a customer that i have been dealing with over phone support cannot get the @ sign to appear on his computer pressing the shift + 2 key give him what he describes as to inverted commas, i also got him to try to hold alt and press 6 4 and still to no avail. i have come to the concluision that the computer he is using ( which was give to him ) is using like a german or british keyboard layout, i need to know how to change it back to good ol' english layout

    I believe you're going to have to dig out that old MS-DOS manual and take a peek at the language settings there. See if this helps:

    Probably either TechNet or support.microsoft.com has the full skinny on the subject. Knowing the DOS version will likely help in narrowing it down.

    thanks but i happend to get home and dig through my old computer desk and behold the orig. win311 manual, dos 6 manual and a plethora of old useless books. but thanks

    Never heard of such a thing.
    Actually, (and I know confus-ed must love it) I learned PC's with Win 3.0 and Dos 5.
    Ah, remember "edlin"?
