    registry files

Put a program on my computer that won't uninstall. Still has references in the registry. I was going to remover references to the registry but was going to manually going to back the registry files.
I can't remember which files to back up. I thought they were user.dat system.dat and another one i think. I can't remember what directory they are in ? WIndows or c:\
The program was spykiller. I was trying it out. Since this is a work computer I can't mess this one up like I can at home.
    Windows 98 second edition.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

    They are User.dat and System.dat.
    They ARE under c:\windows.
    Why are you worried?
    What did you do?
    Trying it out, huh??
Sooo, where have you been that you don't want anyone to see???
    Anyway:
    Go to regedit/HKey local machine/software
Find spykiller and delete the key.

    1. Delete its folder from C:\PROGRAM FILES(or whatever location it installed itself in).

    2. Delete its key in the registry under:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - [Software]

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER - [Software]

    3. Delete its listing in Add/Remove Programs under:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE - Software - Microsoft - Windows - CurrentVersion - [Uninstall].
