I need a "Newegg.com" alternate in midwest
Greetings all,
I like to shop newegg.com for computer hardware (good value), but its too far away (California/New Jersey) and shipping is very expensive! Does anyone know a "good value" hardware outlet that ships from the Midwest or Southeast?
Thanks!

zipzoomfly I use them up here in Alaska (used to be googlegear). They're shipping cost up here are extremely reasonable. A heck of a lot better than newegg + they have several free 2nd Day shipping options.
Monarch Computer Systems in Georgia is good They normally have some pretty decent refurbished deals.
When I was living in Tucson I used to deal with Krex Computers out of Illinois, but I haven't dealt with them in over 2½ years now. Krex Computers
Of the 3 I listed I have found the best deals with zipzoomfly. Shipping to AK can get expensive and I have found them, along with crucial.com and sierratradingpost.com (not PC related, but an excellent online store) to be the most reasonable by far.
I only post using 100% recycled electrons!!!
Stay on the bomb run, boys. I'm going to get them doors open if it hair lips everybody on Bear Creek.

Why? They can get a bit more expensive to ship, but their prices more than make up for it. I haven't found a better place to shop yet. Plus, a lot of their merchandise has free shipping. One time I ordered all the parts for a PC, and it shipped for $15. Gets here in 2 days, too! (I reside in MN.)
I like Newegg, can't you tell?
I used to go to Axiontech.com, they did pretty good, main trouble with them is they're out of Houston Texas, and it takes packages 5+ days to get here.

I was pleased with the newegg shipping time, 2 days standard from California to Illinois. I really dont care about speed as much a cost. It cost me 32 dollars to ship a case, 2 KBs, a mouse, modem, and router. I saved $20 off the "Best Buy" price on Router alone! so i agree that good prices can overcome shipping costs. However, I would like to find a closer seller to save even more money.

Good luck.
Newegg has great prices on their stuff. Plus the reputation is there. I wouldn't trust half of the stores on the net because they could be some fly by night operation.
A good source on comparing prices is froogle. The stores that show up there usually are pretty good but I would still look them up on ressellerrations.com

I'll second monarch computers, they may not be the cheapest, but they have damn good support and very good customer service
