    Win2k Internet Connection Sharing????

My internet pc has two network cards. One for my DSL and one for my local network. My other pc is connected to a switch for the local lan connection. The internet pc has three connections, local lan, dsl and PPPoES (something like that). This is the connection I am sharing with my local lan. My problem is, my other pc can only access certin websites. Also, I cannot Update my Quicken accounting software with my bank.

How can I fix this? Is there a better method I can use to share my internet connection?

PPoE is point to point protocol over ethernet which I suspect is the way you connect to the internet. The best way to share a high speed internet connection is through a router like these. However the way you are setup will work I would read about mixed media routers here. There are other great articles on that site too.

Thanks for the helpful info. If I can't get my next attempt of ICS to work then I'll just install Win2K Server and use the Routing and Remove Access service. I've used it before and it works great, it's just more complicated then ICS.

    Thanks pal!

If you have ICS configured and your client pc's cannot reach some sites or websites are timing out, I suggest reading the artical below.

Here is a fix for those users that have ICS using Enternet 300 or Windows XP's built-in PPPoE. http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/article04-107
