soundmax
i just installed the soundmax sound driver for an intel motherboard but it says that i have headphones plugged into a front audio panel...i don't even have headphones in my room....now it won't play any sound through my speakers...can anyone help?

What windows?
Have you been into the soundmax applet in control panel and changed the speaker setup?

I think NooNoo wants you to go there and make sure everything is "kosher".
We need to eliminate all possiblities before we determine the sound chip is just no good!!

lolz..i forget i wanted some sn a coupla years ago but it was taken..so i've used this for a lot of accounts
yeah this is a new mobo its a D865PERL to be exact...so far i left everything to default settings since this is also a new hard drive...

Go into the soundmax applet and set it to desktop speakers.

yeah its been set to desktop speakers also i tried different speakers on the same board and they didn't work so i'm pretty sure its not the speakers

alright i fixed it...seems like the front audio panel needed two jumpers...which didn't come with the motherboard...the jumpers redirect the sound back to the back audio panel to my speakers...anyway thanks for your help

Just goes to show how we often don't have enough "info" to help.
What front audio panel on an Intel board are we talking about?
