Cirrus 5446 detected at each boot
Help !
I think i've tried most of what i could do ...
i have a cirrus 5446 pci detected at each boot with win98SE. this happens since 95 has been upgraded to 98se.
the mb is an old socket 7 matsonic, with vxpro+ chipset.
i have reinstalled windows fully, tried to tweak the bios settings, bios settings in windows too (irq steering etc...).
i have upgraded the bios, tried the 4-1 upgrade from via, forced vga default, manually deleted all the occurencies detected in safe mode... and this silly card (i guess it's not the card, sorry for cirrus, but the chipset) is still detected at each boot
i'm totally stucked now, i don't know what else i could try.
I would appreciate help (or sign of concern, lol)

You will have to open the computer and disable the video chipset. It sounds like a pcchips mobo. The pins are located near the edge of your mobo. If you can't find the pins, go into your device manager and go to the display properties. Check the "disable in this profile" box. Then install your new video card. Don't install the new card prior to this step. Good luck.
