page Faults?
I reloaded a compaq from its recovery cd's. System has 128mb ram 10gb hard drive win 98 norton system works 2k3 pro. The system gets pagefaults like crazy. Most of the page faults came from the compaq keyboard software so I disabled it now I'm getting some from norton. I tested the hd with data advisor no problems found. I tested memory with a troubleshooter no problems found all fans are good heat doesn't seem to be the issue I reseated all of the components and changed all of the data cables just to make sure. Still it locks up constantly with page faults????? I'm a little stumped so any help is greatly appreciated.

I removed the keyboard software and McAfee before I installed the Norton originally but still had the problem. I just removed the Norton and same thing only this time explorer is causing the pagefault in an unknown module. It was suggested I clear the NVRAM do you know how to do that on a compaq and also what would be residual in the nvram that would give me these pagefaults?
