Explorer Lockups
Whenever using Windows Explorer in XP I find that if an unreadable CD or floppy is accessed the whole thing freezes up (program not responding) and I cant even open Task Manager to end it. Pulling the plug is the only option. Is this normal? anyone else seen this behaviour?

How long do you leave it for?
It will keep trying to read it and give up after about 10 minutes.

Yep, noticed it too, especially with floppy disks.
Wonder why?

I don't really know why, but my experience is that if I remove the offending disk, the machine responds again.
