Post NVIDA RIVA TNT 2 PROBLEM

I am trying to install this on a pentium 2 machine. I think it is an American Megatrends m/b. It keeps telling me that there is a problem with it or it is not enabled, please update the drivers. I HAVE UPDATED THE DRIVERS ! My other 3 machines accept the card with no problems !?!?!I have also tried putting the other cards in this machine, to no avail (one is a creative, the rest are gigabyte)
Also when I right click on the screen, or try to shutdown, I get a blue screen with the following error code:
    File name: NVCORE(01) + 0000A542 Error: OE : 0028 : C14A3972
The 0000A542 and C14A3972 numbers keep changing though.
Please help, and thanx in advance

Is the "Assign IRQ For VGA" option enabled on the BIOS? Have you checked all the VGA settings on it?

Ok, I'm going to take a stab here. What type of card is this? PCI or AGP? Is the OS Windows ME?

I had something similar happen with a 32 meg GeForce II MX. No matter what I would do, WinME would tell me that the card was not working and to get updated drivers. Well, it turned out that my Mobo only supported AGP 1X. The card required AGP 2X.

I would hate to say that a new mobo is required, but I start with AlienDyne's idea of checking the options in the bios. Maybe if you're lucky, AGP 2X may be turned off..

Remeber using Nvidia reference drivers are always preferable over manufacturer's drivers. So unless their absolutely necessary for some special features use the Nvidia drivers.

Ok, the problem was the "Assign IRQ to VGA". I actually found it by accident, but thanx for replying anyway. Why on earth does an AGP slot require a VGA IRQ ???? But anyway, next problem: The drivers I got on one of the CDs' (which I have now misplaced !) work with all my games, but everything thing else, including the drivers on the NVidia site yesterday, don't ! Anyone know where I can download drivers that will work with Unreal Tournament in 800X600 mode, 32bit ?
