    Exclamation Win95 Can't log into 2003

Ok, 2003 server won't let 95 or WinNT4 SP3 or earlier login to the domain, or access shared resources...well damn. How come I had to find that out when running DCPromo on a brand new 2003 server, one which will eventually have 95 clients (or users with 95 PC's) needing access to them...

Anyone got some info on this, I can't believe I overlooked this crap...

Is there not a workaround, besides the obvious, upgrading to 98/2k/XP on the clients?

Thanks. When I followed the link to download the client, it takes me Here , but says I have to download the file from the 2000 CDRom...I only have a 2003 here right now. Anywhere else I can download that client, and what's the name of the file?, can't find it on 2003 OEM from Dell...

All good, found this guy posted it, and it seems to work just fine on the one I tested.

    RESOLUTION
    Windows NT 4.0
To resolve this behavior, upgrade the operating system (the recommended resolution), or install Service Pack 4 (SP4) or later. Service Pack 3 (SP3) provides support for SMB signing, but it does not support encryption or signing of secure channel traffic. Although SP4 and Service Pack 5 (SP5) do enable the client for SMB signing and encryption or signing of secure channel, Microsoft recommends that you install Service Pack 6a (SP6a) on Windows NT 4.0 clients that interoperate in a Windows Server 2003 domain.
    Windows 95
To resolve this behavior, upgrade the operating system (the recommended resolution), or install the latest Active Directory client.

    WORKAROUND
Although Microsoft does not recommend it, you can prevent SMB signing from being required on all domain controllers that run Windows Server 2003 in a domain. To configure this security setting, follow these steps:
Open the Default Domain Controllers Policy.
    Open the Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options folder.
Locate the Microsoft network server: Digitally sign communications (always) policy setting, and then click Disabled or Do Not Configure.
