Question Windows ME Drivers for Diamond Viper II

I've got a 32MB Diamond Viper II video card installed with the (supplied)
Windows 98 drivers. Occasionally, the video flashes on bootup and I have to
hit the reset to recover. I assume that there is some incompatibility with
Windows ME. The Diamond web site does not have the ME drivers. Does anyone
know if they are available and where I can pick them up?

    Thanks!

Try the 10.80 drivers, make sure you uninstall your current drivers first though.

Also, in the "INF" folder there should be a compatible driver for your Viper II. I loaded ME with a Diamond Viper 770 Ultra and it installed the card with a driver supplied, it worked perfectly.

Used to have the Viper V770 Ultra but plucked it from my box after installing "new" (at the time) driver from Diamond shortly after S3 bought them out. New driver crashed system (card didn't like DirectX 7.0a, which new driver called for) also new driver removed all the "ultra" tweaking functionality for which I had paid a premium. Had to go with DirectX7.0 and the older driver. So Viper II may need an even older driver if the one that came with ME doesn't work. Sounds illogical, but...?

Also make sure you're not trying to run it at AGP 4X if it can only handle 2X... if I remember correctly the Viper 770 could only go 2X and had jumpers on the card which had to be physically set. Viper II might be the same?
