    Post display adapter drivers

I have a IBM 370c laptop which has recently been upgraded from windows 3.11 to windows 98 se it has lost full colour and now only runs with 16 colours , 640 X 480 resolution. I need a new display adapter driver for at least 256 colours the present one is a western digital paradise super VGA {wd} 4 - 23- 1999 which is the best of the 9 already in the computer. neither IBM or wd can help and paradise has close down. can anyone please help me. Tony -
the Driver for Video for the IBM 370c is here: http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/COBN...es&subtype=Cat

I am afraid there is only a W3.1 driver.
If IBM didnt make a W9X driver, you will probably not find one.
You can try this INF file from ibm: http://www.pc.ibm.com/qtechinfo/GSMH...es&subtype=Cat
but i am not sure it will work.

After examining the two files that Scuba suggested, I think you should try changing the adapter setting from Paradise to the first of the Western Digital selections included in Win98SE. According to the two IBM files (I looked at the oemsetup.inf files in the win31 folder of both of them), your system uses a Western Digital WD90C24 video chip. Hope this helps. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

i dont know if this will work on 98 but 95 is reverse compatible with 3.x drivers , or atleast it is suposed to be, when up gradeing
from 3.x there are known isues that drivers from 3.x can cause when 98 trys to reuse them
any way try to use the 3.x drivers under 98
ive had some funny efects useing the old tridents 8900 drivers under 95 , the screen
gets real bright on the colors , also some of the western digital line kinda use the same
drivers so try drivers for a similar chipset
sometymes works any way good luck please use youre better judgement if not deltree windows and fresh install!
