Titchski, where is home, seems pretty strange for a brummie to go to marylebone ... if you are going to brum, then go to Reading and get the straight through train.

Hey Titchski,
Have had a good afternoon sampling some beers in Piccadilly Circus. Only went in one pub though, it seemed a shame to leave such a warm place on such a cold day! I think it was called the Devonshire Arms, (perhaps one too many). Walk out of Piccadilly Circus station, up Shaftsbury Avenue and it's on the left about 50 yards up. Can't miss it. The pub in Brewer Street that confus-ed was on about, (Crown), seems to have gone. There's a place called Glasshouse Stores in it's place. Didn't go in but it's supposed to be good. Took some photos with the phone camera thing, about time I used it for some photos other than girls legs on the train

(I look forward to the day when phone cameras take pictures like they seem to in the adverts )
There are lots of pubs in the area. However it might be worth you going on to Covent Garden, (2 more stops), where the pubs are better. Or like Confus-ed suggested, a pub at Marylebone. There's one in the station there that I think does grub. It might be better to get to your mainline station first, rather than rely on the dodgy tube network. Again, there are a few scattered around Marylebone itself, (don't go to the globe)!! At least you can have a few and then just be ready for the train to Brum.
This site is good for looking up a pub.
If you're looking at getting some London atmosphere then I'd suggest Piccadilly Circus or Covent Garden pubs.
If you're looking for a quick pint or 2 then off again on your way I'd suggest a pub at Marylebone.
I'll be happy to research again next time I'm up the west end! Hic.
There's no panic like the panic you momentarily feel when you've got
your hand or head stuck in something

I thought about that one Noo... but I can get a cheap ticket (£15 return) on the Chiltern Turbo thing that goes from Marylebone to Solihull, it actually only takes an hour and 50 minutes (Allegedly of course, there may be the wrong kind of wind, or excessive sheep on the line or some other bizarre excuse).
Thanks though, I'll bear Reading in mind if I have issues getting the Chiltern train

Blimey... Thanks Gazzak for undertaking such arduous research!
Now what was that about girls legs on trains? I just ordered a new phone (with camera and it will also work in the UK too)
