    Unhappy PIII Tualitin compatibility

I recently purchased a PIII 1.13 Tualitin (I think I'm spelling that right) and proceeded to attempt to upgrade from my 733. I put the 1.13 on the board and the machine won't even post.

The motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-60x. I checked their website originally and believed that I saw that it supported this chip (tis why I bought it), but when I went back after I had the problem, the document is "not available".

I've tried manually setting the onboard DIPS to the right settings, clearing CMOS and all the other normal steps to see if it was just a funky setting and no luck.

So, I've two questions. If anyone knows some voodoo that I need to do to make this work with my GA-60x, I'd love it. If not, I need a recommendation of an inexpensive Mobo that will support the 1.13 tualitin.

    Thanks,
    *lin*
I actually voted for John Kerry, before I voted against him.

The board IS supposed to support the Tualatin. Here: http://www.giga-byte.com/MotherBoard...Rev%201.1).htm
    And here: http://indigo.intel.com/mbsg/details.aspx?compID=1202
    Have you updated the bios?
    EDIT:
The board which supports the Tualatin is the GA-60XET! Is this what you have? Check this too: http://www.giga-byte.com/Motherboard...ntel+815EP.htm

I used to have this board and it actually did not support Tualatins... It is regular Intel 815EP chipset board. It should be at least GA-60XT ( Intel 815EP Step B ) http://tw.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/...st_GA-6OXT.htm

No, it is just a GA-60X. There are several later revisions like the ET that I think may have added the support.

So then, we have our answer, don't we? Now you would like recommendations?
