    Red face 751/756/ AGP/@X2/anyOS

I finally took the XP Pro plunge. Hopeing I would also fix an ongoing problem im having. An ongoing AGP support issue.

I quit Win95 cause of "apparent conflict" issue.
I quit NT because of "No AGP minidrivers available for NT" in the AMD chipset dowloads.

I have seached the world over and can only find people having problems...not people finding answers.

Has any human being on the planet Earth ever gotten there AMD 751/756 chipsets to operate the AGP port at X2? My Shuttle ai61 unfortunately has this set. BTW...this may be the root.

    I have a GeForce2MX400 AGP.
    Shuttle ai61....(with latest BIOS flashed)
    Athlon 750 slotA
    Running Windows XP.
I downloaded Nvidia Drivers version 5.13.01.2182
I installed winFox utilities as means of checking system stuff...It reports AGP X1.

The AMD 751/756 technical papers describe the chipset as AGP2.0 comliant.
The very same document describes the chipset as AGP1.0 compliant!....hmmmm?

I have also fiddled with all the BIOS adjustments that seem to pertain to my issue. I almost got excited when i noticed the "super bypass mode" disabled...but...no help.

I dont even know if its opperating at its potential...I assumed not when Quake II in Open GL mode 600x800 was doing 60fps.

Try down loading a little utility called "GeForce Utilities".
This might help you out with that Irongate chipset.

Sorry NATB, you weren't being ignored, I was looking for a utility or 2 for enabling 2X Irongate for XP, my favorite, Getune, doesn't work reliably with XP, go figure.

I'm glad you got it fixed, where did you find "geforce utilities" I have seen and used dosens of tweak programs but the one you describe sounds like it could help thousands of people trying to get detonator drivers to work in XP not to mention the Irongate 2X debacle.

    BTW...For Irongate (AMD751/756) chipset owners.

Heres a couple of BIOS settings I have.
I did download the latest BIOS from Shuttle.

    Advanced BIOS features
    Virus Warning....Disabled (of course)
    Internal Cache...Enabled
    External Cache...Enabled

    Advanced Chipset features
    Sytem BIOS Cacheable....Dis
    Video RAM Cacheable.....Dis
AGP Aperature...........32 (some say Half your RAM)
Super Bypass Mode.......Enabled (This feature may be the key to fixing AGP)

    Integrated Peripherals
Init. Display First...AGP (as apposed to PCI)

    PnP/PCI Configurations
PCI latency timer.......32 (No clue here)

Im no BIOS tweaker...but this might help someone.

I haved used that Geforce tweak utility extensivly in win2K and 9X, Haven't tried any newer versions with XP. I always liked the "set it and forget it" approach with this tweaker.
