I've got the Erazor III w/ revealator glasses
the chipset is RIVA TNT2 w/ 32MB AGP
    It's in a AMD K6/2 400Mhz system
I've got the Microstar 5169 MB w/ all updates
I've got all the updated driver for ALI
I've got all the updated drives for ELSA
    I've got Direct X 7
There is no card in the PCI Slot after it
I've even tried the Detonator Drivers
BUT STILL NO PHREAKING Direct 3D
It locks every time I load a game that requires Direct 3D not just a few games ALL of them..

I get the BLACK SCREEN of death every time I use the Direct 3D drivers in any game

Could some one please help me get it working

I have an ELSA Erazor III and an AMD K6/2 400mhz chip also but I have had no problems with direct 3d

I got the 3d relevator glasses working, but unless if you have a super duper monitor it is going to probably look crappy.

I had some problems once, I installed the new elsa drivers for the card and goggles and read the manual veryyyy carefully...

I had similar problems with an ATI Rage Pro Turbo chip video card and an Asus motherboard (with ALi chipset). Even with all of the current drivers and BIOS updates I still had the problem. The only improvement I saw was when I flashed my BIOS with a beta version of the newest revision from Asus. After I did that, some games were OK, but most of them still locked the system. Both Asus and ATi acknowledged the problem and claimed to be working on it, but I got tired of waiting. I bought a Diamond Monster Fusion (3dfx Banshee chip) and haven't had any trouble since.

You might check with Microstar and Elsa for any beta versions of drivers or BIOS updates. If that doesn't work out, you might consider a different video card/motherboard combo.

BTW, did you get your drivers for the ALi chipset from Microstar or directly from ALi? I just visited the Microstar site and their ALi drivers available for download are pretty old.

    Good luck.

    I've got similar problems.

I had a K6-2 with RIVA TNT2 16Mb, it all worked fine with all drivers. But, I changed from a 'Commate S7A' to a 'Giga-byte 5AA' and now the card always crashes, the only way I know to fix this is to install older Detonator drivers e.g. V3.68. Both motherboards I've used are Ali, except the one that keeps crashing is slightly newer (so much for progress>
