    Is This a Virus?

    Hi Gang,

I have a snow scene wallpaper on my desktop. When I finished installing some games and doing a backup with Norton Ghost. I found the gray squares indicated below (by black arrows which I drew next to the snowflakes). The snowflakes represent programs like My Computer, My Documents etc.

Here is a picture of this. I scanned and found no virus. However when I started an online scan with Panda, they disappeared.

    Someone advise me please.

    Thanks,
    Orangeman

Check your background settings. It looks to me that 'Pattern' is enabled.
    'Thatches' to be specific.

    eh, eh, very funny.

So why did it only disappear when I ran Panda Virus scan. And NO, it isn't thatches, you're looking in the wrong place.

    Here is a close-up.

I am referring to the grayish-white rectangle at the bottom left of the snowflake.

It didn't appear in all the icons, only some of them. First it appeared in one, then another, then another a few seconds later. Panda AV turned up nothing, Neither did AVG.

your hard drive is screemin in pain coz

a: it objected to being called "echo off"

b: it was manhandled and objected to it,s jumpers being changed.350 times

reload your video drivers ,,,,,,and get rid of the snowflakes ,,,,,think of summer.

this is a classic case of cold weather syndrom

Wasn't me ! ... It looks like some kind of overlay issue ?

Show me a flipping picture I can actually focus on & I might have a chance of saying

Orange just what are you complaining about the little 'shortcut to arrows' ? or the hashing ?
