Best convention/conference for a sys admin
I kind of have a blank check to attend at least one conference/convention this year. I was thinking about the Adult Video Convention, but my boss said it had to be job-related.
What's a good such event for your basic small/medium sized business System Administrator? Something like a Comdex or something more specific? What do you guys go to every year? Just wondering.

I went to the MIT spam conference, right down the street, (well 7 stops on the red line), here in Boston...it was lots of fun, tons of people (and famous companies, including Microsoft, whose representative, was insanely sharp, yet businesslike and funny), and I learned alot about Bayesian filtering, and free spam solving solutions....etc......I dunno how often that is....but it was okay to go to, since it was local.

I've heard that Comdex is a good one to attend, but I haven't been able to attend.
I have attended the Tech Mentor conferences hosted by MCP Magazine (101 Communications.) There's lots of good sessions, but it is all Microsoft products. The sessions that I have attended at these are lead by knowledgeable folks. It's especially good if your company is keeping up with the latest from Microsoft. It's held twice a year, once in the east and once in the west.

I've been to a couple of these and they're always pretty technical, topical, and fun.
