Acer CD-RW
Morning all or evening all depending on where you live....
Just want to know if there is anything I can do to fix my CD-RW? Doesn't power up, BIOS won't recognise. Cables are sound as I've connected an old CD-ROM to the same cables and it works fine. No lights on startup, but the motor spins briefly inside. Doesn't matter if set as Master/Slave/CS.
There's no internal fuse or anything like that is there?
Shame as it's only 3 years old and not used that much. Wife says I don't need to replace as I have a laptop with a CD-RW on it.... which is a fair point, just hope she is as reasonable next time she wants some shoes....

Most likely it's gone for good, you can think of an upgrade to DVD+/-RW. But I have good news: I've just saved a lot of $$$ on my car insurance by switching to Geico.
