    Shared Printer

I have a SBS 2003 server box with a networked printer attached to it, I need to be able to map a drive using the login scripts to this shared printer. However when I login as a user it asks me for a username and password!

P.S: The printer is a networked printer ie. connected via cat5

Sounds like maybe the security settings on the printer object itself doesn't include that user or group....?? maybe?

    A DRIVE ???
You map a drive to a shared folder... Maybe you are thinking about something like this though:
    NET USE LPT1: \\SERVER\SHAREDPRINTER

Sorry for the typo, I have already used the login script for the NET USE command but when the users login they are asked for the password! Even though they have security rights to the printer?!?!?!?

What OS is installed on the clients? If it's Win 95 or NT4 you might need to install the AD client from the Win2000 server CD. Not a typo, it's Win 2000 server!

The server is Server 2003 and the clients are Windows XP!

I seem to have made some more progress with the printing issue, it seems that for some reason unless I have administrative rights to the local machine then it won't allow me to capture LPT1 unless I disable it in Device Manager!
