Certification
So after 5 years in the industry I finally got a cert. (A+ and Net+) I have never had a need/desire to get certs. I have the job skills and experience that a parer cert cant provide, but the company wants more and more certs from the staff.
My question is what should I do next?
I can start the MCSE path, but that would require studying to get the correct "Microsoft" answers. Or I can continue with the "+" exams and get Security+, Server+, and iNet+. I can do most of these with very little studying.
Oh yeah, my company will pay for all the tests so cost is not a problem (unless I fail them).
I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day.

Yea its' tough to come up with study and family time. I'm currently cleaning up after a MCSE so certs without experience is a waste of money and time, I have a few certs but lots of experience.. I say go with the easy ones until a path becomes clear to you. Then sacrifice the family time to up your earning potential.

what do you do in your day to day job right now? What do you plan on doing in the future?
As soon as you have figured out where you are right now and where you want to end up, choosing the right cert path will be easy.
