[RESOLVED] Video Driver Virus's
Hello, I have a question that I wouldn't mind some second opinions on. We'll here goes. I am running win2000 and have gotten a video driver virus. What the virus does is limits my display options to 640x480 I cannot go above this resolution. I have deleted the drivers for the card and reinstalled them to no avail and have also ran numerous virus scan's none of which can pick up a virus. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Is it a new card freshly installed in the system and is it Win2k compatible? Try going to their site (via windrivers) and checking for drivers for win2k. Without knowing the card this all is just a guess but if your a/v definitions are up to date and aren't picking up a virus of any kind I would tend to think it's an incompatiblity with the card and the OS.

The Card is an ATI rage pro. I know that it is not a compatibility issue as the virus was migrated from another computer with a similiar problem. The resolution on the computer was at 1280x1024 and after the virus was transfered to the system it changed back to 680x480. I should have included all of this im sorry for not doing it.

Viruses do not "live" on video cards that way. I'm going to hold with my original answer and suggest you update the drivers.
Try this link (you can thank Mustang, he found them first)
