It is too late to fix America via the Republicans or Democrats, and too early to start shooting the bastards.

I must admit I'm starting to wonder why you even bother posting at times, Ju...
Greed and power also cause problems and conflicts in this world. As a matter of fact, you'll probably find that behind the so-called "religious" conflicts you mention.
My belief system doesn't make me a mindless drone - quite the opposite. If my faith doesn't make sense there's no reason to adhere to it. There's no reason for me to detach my faith from reality. Faith should explain the world, not negate it.
And I think WD is an excellent example of people of various, divergent and even opposite faiths exchanging ideas and being relatively civil and polite with each other.

Father was Methodist & Mother was HOLY ROLLER Pentecostal (First Pentecostal Church of Free Will Macedonians-yes snake handlers and talkin' in tongues). My mother & the rest of her immediate family literally bolted away from that long ago (though I still have several relatives involved with it). Now both of my parents are Unitarian.
I am an Apathetic Agnostic.
